Spring Concert: DCSO & New Horizons Band

Free Adult Ensembles Concert
Sunday, April 29, 2018
4:00PM, Westminster Presbyterian Church

Enjoy a joint concert by NISOM’s adult performance ensembles, Dubuque Community String Orchestra and New Horizons Band on Sunday, April 29 at 4PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $7. A reception with light refreshments will follow.

The concert will feature favorite works of conductors Tracey Rush (DCSO) and Glenn Pohland (New Horizons Band) and will be Rush's last concert at the DCSO podium. NISOM thanks 2017-2018 DCSO podium sponsors Tim & Christine Conlon.

Rush founded DCSO in 1998 to give non-professional musicians an outlet for ensemble performance. The orchestra gives two or more free concerts per year and often collaborates with NISOM's other adult ensembles.

NISOM’s New Horizons Band (NHB) is a non-auditioned concert band for adult musicians age 50 and up. Formed in 2009, the group gives multiple concerts each year, often performing in senior centers or collaborating with Loras College ensembles. NHB is a member of the international music organization New Horizons Music, which promotes music-making for adults age 50 and over.
