Rebecca Lansing

Voice Faculty

Rebecca Lansing, soprano, received her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University and Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Simpson College. Rebecca spent two years teaching voice at Center Stage Academy for the Performing Arts in Gonzales, LA. While a teacher there, Rebecca’s students achieved best star awards, winner and nominee recognition at regional Access Broadway competitions nationwide and admission into the audition-only New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Rebecca has also served as an instructor of Music Appreciation for East Iowa Community College in Davenport. She is currently on the staff at NISOM as Program Director.

An avid performer of opera, concert music, and musical theatre, Rebecca has performed the title role in The Merry Widow, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Micaëla in La tragédie de Carmen (LSU Opera), Pamina in The Magic Flute, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, and Yum Yum in The Mikado. In addition to her operatic work, Rebecca also enjoys performing musical theatre. Some of her favorite roles performed are Eponine in Les Miserables and Nelly Forbush in South Pacific. As a professional soloist, Rebecca has appeared as the soprano soloist for Mozart’s Requiem Mass, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Handel’s Messiah, Vaughan William’s Dona nobis pacem, and Mozart’s Litaniae Laurentanae. Rebecca is a two-time first prizewinner at the NATS competition on the regional level, and a regional finalist for the Classical Singer Competition held in New York City.
