Besides continuing to improve on the basics (technique, rhythm, note reading, & simple melodies), students will have the opportunity to learn in a fun, interactive classroom setting. Build teamwork and leadership by taking turns leading the class, develop musicianship through playing together as an ensemble, and improve performance skills by playing for each other in a stress free environment. Continue in books from Kid’s Piano II. Limit 4 students. $140.

High School-Adult Classes

Advanced Guitar Technique (Ages 12-Adult)
Mondays 6:30-7:15 PM with instructor Marcus DeJesus
Class will be held on Monday, Nov. 21. No class on Monday Jan. 2, 2017

Have you played guitar for at least 1-2 years and want to bring your technique to a new level? This class will explore classical guitar finger picking, speed exercises, Segovia scales, and train the mind of students that wish to play more than the basic chords. The methods of Ricardo Iznaola train the guitarist to learn how “perfect practice, makes it perfect.” Basic guitar experience required. Limit 6 students. $140+ books.

How to Jam! (Ages 12- Adult)
Mondays 7:30-8:30 PM with instructor Marcus DeJesus
Class will be held on Monday, Nov. 21. No class on Monday Jan. 2, 2017

Learn to jam! Are there rules to jamming in a group? How can we create music on the spot? This course can serve as a recreation opportunity for players who would like to express their musical ideas with other musicians and learn the basic rules of improvising. The goal of this course is to help the student put into practice all the knowledge they have in scales, chords and arpeggios by playing with others. This is a class to explore extreme creativity, develop ensemble instinct skills and become comfortable with the stage. Limit 6 students. $100 materials included.
