All NISOM private students will participate in a fundraiser each school year.
Why Student Fundraisers?
NISOM is a non-profit organization, and without fundraisers, we would not be able to offer instruction. The tuition students pay doesn't cover all the costs of giving you lessons. What’s included in those costs? Someone to teach you (teacher pay), a safe place to learn (facilities & utilities), performance opportunities (recitals), and lesson-related administrative costs. It does not include the costs of any of NISOM’s other programs or general administrative costs.
We could charge more tuition and not do any fundraising, but doing so would make lessons too expensive for most our students. As a non-profit community school, our goal is to make music accessible to everyone!
Instead our staff, board, and volunteers work very hard to raise money other ways, and student splay an important part in helping make up some of the difference.
What Are My Options?
We offer three student fundraiser options for the 2016-2017 school year: Playathon, volunteer, or donate. Every private student should select one of these.
Playathon, December 11, 2016
Our primary student fundraiser is Playathon on December 11, 2016 during A Roshek Holiday. Playathon is a grand public recital for which students collect sponsorships beforehand (similar to a walk-a-thon). The goal for each student is to raise $100, and students earn fun prizes for their efforts. Students receive Playathon packets with complete details in the fall.
Watch for announcements as opportunities to volunteer to work or perform arise, or contact NISOM to make other arrangements if you aren’t able to do any of the announced opportunities.
Donate: Suggested donation amounts per student are $100 for the school year (the equivalent of the Playathon goal) OR $45 each trimester.
Thank You! We truly appreciate our students’ efforts with fundraisers. Please contact our office if you have any questions.
