A Note Regarding Tuition
It is very important to us at NISOM that we keep lessons as affordable as possible. We do not want to make music education impossible for anyone based on financial reasons. To that end, we charge far less in tuition than it costs us to run NISOM. The Northeast Iowa School of Music is a non-profit organization, not a business that operates entirely out of lesson income. We hold fundraisers as well as seek grants and private donations, but it is still not enough to cover our expenses, frugal though we are. We are asking for your help keeping our doors open, and there are a couple ways to do that.
For many of you, the regular tuition rate is all you can possibly pay. However, if you can afford to do so, please consider paying the tuition amount we should charge: $300 ($450 for 45-minute lessons; $600 for 60-minute). The amount you give exceeding the standard tuition rate will be a tax-deductible donation. The Northeast Iowa School of Music is a 501(c)3 organization.
Note: If tuition is already a hardship for your family, we have scholarship assistance available. Scholarships are awarded before the fall session begins, but applications submitted throughout the year will be considered as funds allow.
We ask all students to participate in our annual Playathon. A playathon is a grand public recital for which students raise sponsorships. It’s very simple and can be a lot of fun! Mark your calendar for Playathon on November 13.
Thank you for your support of NISOM! Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. |
