POSITION TITLE:  Program Manager

CLASSIFICATION: $15.25/hr with approximately 10 hours per week (average); with additional hours as needed with approval of Executive Director.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Manager is responsible for managing current off-site community programming, school events and performances, developing public relations and external communications, carrying out the goals of Northeast Iowa School of Music, and assisting the Executive Director in other projects as requested.

 

DUTIES

1. Coordinate and supervise off-site programs; manage outreach programs, including but not limited to L&MOP, after-school programs, and special events.


2. Manage ChamberFest DBQ, including artist coordination, publicity, venue details, ticket sales, and event logistics.


3. Manage fundraiser events and concerts including planning, publicity, printed programs and tickets, and communicating with performers and sponsors as necessary.


4. Coordinate operations for rehearsals and public performances of school ensembles, such as Dubuque Community String Orchestra, Sweet Adelines, Healing Harmonies, and New Horizons Band in cooperation with conductors and venues. This includes website and social media support.


5. Plan all student recitals, including managing sign-ups, preparing programs, scheduling an accompanist, and procuring a location.


6. Provide on-site support for all events and performances as needed (includes setup and tear-down).


7. Design, print and distribute posters, flyers, newsletters, brochures as necessary in cooperation with the Executive Director.


8. Write and distribute press releases as appropriate; maintain media contact information.


9. Develop and maintain contact lists for local schools, private music teachers, preschool services, senior centers, and other possible community partners.


10. Work with Executive Director on grants and sponsorships to fund programs. Provide program information for grant applications and reports, and track hours and expenses relating to grant-funded programs when necessary.


11. Assist in developing, staffing and coordinating displays, exhibits, and promotional events in cooperation with Executive Director as necessary.


12. Seek opportunities for Northeast Iowa School of Music to be visible in the community.


13. Submit reports to Board as directed.


14. Complete other external and internal communications as directed (including with faculty and students when necessary).


15. Project a positive image of Northeast Iowa School of Music and its partners to the community and represent the school in a positive manner at meetings, workshops, seminars, and public events as requested.


16. Maintain all work in an orderly fashion so that the information is readily accessible to other staff.


17. Maintain professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities and duties.


18. Comply with Northeast Iowa School of Music Personnel Policies and Procedures and all other Northeast Iowa School of Music policies/regulations.
