Fall, 2020

We are excited to have the support of so many in our community. Northeast Iowa School of Music is well-known for its fidelity to its mission: to make the life-changing benefits of music education and enrichment accessible to all through instruction, performance, and outreach.

In 2018, he Iowa Arts Council selected Northeast Iowa School of Music as one of its new Cultural Leadership Partners with a total award of $30,000 disbursed as $10,000 per year for three years. Funding for the Cultural Leadership Partner grant program is made possible by the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts. We have also received an Iowa Arts & Culture Emergency Relief Grant in the amount of $4,500 for COVID-19 recovery efforts.

This fall, the City of Dubuque Arts and Culture Commission awarded the school $10,019 through the FY21 Operating Support Grant Program.

Northeast Iowa School of Music also received invaluable funds to support special programs:

  • The City of Dubuque has renewed their funding support of Northeast Iowa School of Music's student scholarship program through the Departmentof Leisure Services. This $3000 provides need-based financial assistance to students, enabling them to receive life-changing music education.
  • HAVlife of the Tri-States, due to COVID-19, was unable to support our student scholarship program but pledged to support scholarships next year
  • The Dubuque Racing Association will anounce an award for our Soak Up the Sound project in October. This will allow us to purchase acoustic treatment for all our teaching studios.
  • US Bank (Dean Wilgenbusch, market president for the Dubuque and Galena markets) provided $2500 as a Major Sponsor of ChamberFest DBQ 2020.
  • Schoen Family Charitable Trust provided $2000 to support lesson scholarships.
  • Gary J. and Sara L. Evers Foundation provided $1000 to support our women's choir: Heartland Harmony of Dubuque.
  • The Wahlert Foundation has donated $1500 to support lesson scholarships.
  • Premier Bank has again claimed the baton, donating $1500 to be the Podium Sponsor for our Dubuque Community String Orchestra.
  • Our partners at Dupaco Community Credit Union have provided $1600 for instruction for the music students at the Dubuque Dream Center.

Please join us in thanking each of these funders for making music happen! As a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community, Northeast Iowa School of Music relies on the generosity of grantors and donors to help support enriching programs.
