Local college students can take lessons at Northeast Iowa School of Music and receive credit hours from their school. We currently offer this partnership with Northeast Iowa Community College and Emmaus Bible College. Students register and pay fees at the college or university at which you are enrolled. Then contact Northeast Iowa School of Music to set up your lesson time. All lessons take place at Northeast Iowa School of Music but follow the academic calendar of your college.
Private lessons are a wonderful way to begin music instruction or improve your skill. No experience or audition is required. Lessons are available in piano, voice, guitar, composition, and band & orchestra instruments.

College students are encouraged to join the audience for Northeast Iowa School of Music community events and concerts. Get inspired by professional guest artists and local adult musicians! Many opportunities are free, and student prices are available for ticketed events.
Northeast Iowa School of Music offers need-based financial assistance for private lessons, group classes, ensembles, and workshops. Please submit your scholarship application before you plan to register for the program.
The Dubuque Community String Orchestra is an non-auditioned ensemble of adult musicians. The orchestra gives two or more public concerts per year. Rehearsals are Monday evenings at 6:30-8:00PM at Oak Park Place. New members are welcome!
