Violin & Viola Faculty

Miss Payne is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelors degree in Instrumental Music Education. During her time there she studied viola with Dr. Julia Bullard and Dr. Michael Kimber. Tracey Rush

Violin & Viola Faculty

Mrs. Rush teaches orchestra at Roosevelt Middle School and recently retired as the founding conductor of the Dubuque Community String Orchestra after 20 years. She has a BS in Music Education from Bob Jones University and a Masters of Music from UNI. She served many years as the principal violist of the Dubuque Symphony and is a veteran chamber music player.

Brianna Tieskotter

Violin & Viola Faculty

Miss Tieskotter graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and is certified to teach K-5 and 5-12 Music Education in Iowa. She recently finished her fifth year as an Itinerant Elementary school orchestra teacher in Dubuque Community Schools. She plays violin in the Dubuque Community String Orchestra.

Kyle Geesey

Cello Faculty

Kyle Geesey has his Bachelor of Instrumental Music Education at the University of Northern Iowa and is the orchestra director at Waterloo East High School. An active performer, Kyle enjoys working in pit orchestras and has played in the Dubuque Symphony Youth Orchestra, as well as several honors orchestras that have taken him as far as Carnegie Hall.

Bass Faculty

Mr. Geyssens teachers double bass and bass guitar at the Northeast Iowa School of Music. He also is the Director of Orchestras at Dubuque Senior High School and the Director of the Dubuque Youth Philharmonia. Previously, he taught 5-12th grade orchestra in Marshalltown, Iowa.
