Rebecca Geyssens

Violin & Viola Faculty

Rebecca Geyssens teaches violin and viola at the Northeast Iowa School of Music. In addition, she is the Director of the Dubuque Symphony Youth String Ensemble and the Dubuque Community String Orchestra, and is the Librarian for the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. Previously, Ms. Geyssens was the Director of Orchestras at Waterloo East High School in Waterloo, IA and Assistant Director of Bunger Middle School and No Strings Attached.

Ms. Geyssens received her Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Northern where she studied viola with Dr. Julia Bullard. She is also a Suzuki trained teacher receiving instruction from the Chicago Suzuki Institute.

Ms. Geyssens is a member of several professional organizations including the Suzuki Association of the Americas, American String Teachers Association, and the Iowa String Teachers Association (which she is Secretary).

An active violist and violinist throughout Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, Ms. Geyssens has performed with groups like the Clinton Symphony Orchestra, Muscatine Symphony Orchestra, Clarke Chamber Orchestra, and several musicals including She Loves Me and Les Miserables.
