The Award Goes To...

And the winner is...

Michael Banwarth!

Local high school student Michael Banwarth is the winner of NISOM’s Student Silent Film Score Contest, which was held in partnership with the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival (JDIFF), Loras College, and Runde Auto Group. Banwarth composed the score to the short film Sojourn by Matt Resnick and Thomas Graziano.

Strings Sing with Smith

NISOM’s Dubuque Community String Orchestra gave a free spring concert We Are Family on March 9, 2014. Guest violist Yvonne Smith soloed on this concert that highlighted the instruments in the string family through pieces such as “Plink, Plank, Plunk,” “The Swan,” and Schubert’s “Concerto in C.”
